This season, tartan is a must have in the closet. It's also great because there are so many different types/patterns of tartan in different colours so there's always the perfect tartan for you. The red tartan & the green tartan are my favorites. I couldn't decide on which one to write about, so I made two items, & these are the results of another successful sewing session!
First is this mini skirt. A classic! It has the 'schoolgirl' feel to it and because I wore it with brogues & socks, the outfit looks perfectly preppy. This mustard T shirt is from PRIMARK. It matches with the mustard/yellow colour that's in this tartan. And to keep warm, I wore this black jacket from river island ( years ago.) The brogues are from NEXT.
With accessories, I wore this buckle bangle and added a quilted round cross bag from primark too. Finally, the hat is a vintage BURBERRY hat that I bought at a vintage fair last year.
With my second tartan, I made this dress that I'm loving. It has a skinny belt at the waist so I can adjust the tightness and its versatile. In this cool weather I would wear it with this turtle neck top to keep warm. Again it looks preppy. But if it wasn't too cold I would wear it with just a jacket on top.
I added these yellow socks for a pop of colour, and then wore these grey wedge boots that were actually a gift from my sister :)
